Carbo should make changes

The game of power Canadian lack of finishing is the main problem because the execution is not so bad.

Of course, Alex Kovalev can not find the bottom of the net as often as last season and Mark Streit is no longer there to make its key. But I agree with Guy Carbonneau when he claims that his team gets several chances to score without capitalize.

Kovalev seems a little more nervous in the powerplay and he is less moving on the ice. Since we monitor more closely, it is up to others to contribute more.

In fact, if we remove the four goals from Alex Tanguay successful power play, other players do not finish games and I think in Chris Higgins. As for Saku Koivu, it has not yet reached the target power play.

It is not often Guillaume Latendresse on the powerplay although it is doing well at the net. In my opinion, Latendresse could raise some goals and be useful in this facet of the game I'm not saying he represents the long-term solution, but it could help donnné that Higgins is missing several occasions.

I still say qu'Andrei Markov must return to the left edge while Tanguay may be used on the right. Markov has affinities with Kovalev and he was able to create games that way. To be useful at most, Kovalev should also start games and power, even if it was on the ice shortly before. It's simple, the success of the power play through it.

I believe that Robert Lang gets too much time on the powerplay. It is not enough physical and above all it does not control the puck as well as Kovalev.

It is not yet the time to press the panic button "since only one match could revive it.

An effort not enough

I am not convinced that victory facing the St. Louis Blues automatically boost the team. Just as in defeat, they always look at the overall picture of a match in the victory and it was not a great performance Tricolore. In fact, the Blues should not defeat Canadian.

If the troupe Guy Carbonneau had scored one or two power play goals, the victory was in the pocket well before the extension or the firing of the dam. Carbo wishes of course revive his team on the road with good wins, but the intensity is still there.

I was disappointed by the early part facing the Blues because I believed that Canadians would start in force. The assets remain the Habs speed, intensity and the failure earlier, but they did not use these ingredients enough against St. Louis.

Defenders must also conduct a revival of the game faster. But to do this, the attackers must go deeper in the defensive zone and not to cheat in the neutral zone which complicates the task of defenders.

Earlier this season, the Canadiens used the strategy that allows attackers to take speed. The Detroit Red Wings deploy this system to perfection and is one of the reasons for their success.

Carbo should act

When a team through a hollow wave, the coach must try to turn the wind and why Carbonneau has modified its trios. I do not believe that these new combinations will last long for some reasons. First, Alex Kovalev and Saku Koivu does not complement very well on the same trio. Both players are successful when carrying the puck in the offensive zone. Then Tom Kostopoulos does not deserve a place on the second offensive unit. Kostopoulos is a spark plug like Steve Bégin and it can not evolve on the first two trios.

Finally, Latendresse can not really do justice on a fourth trio. Latendresse had the opportunity to be paired with Koivu and Tanguay during a period facing the Flyers last Saturday and has scored a goal in this commitment.

But ultimately, Carbo tried things and that is what he should do.

Lapierre's turn to suffer

Sunday, it was the turn of Maxim Lapierre to watch a party from the press box. However, this situation should not last very long. Lapierre has committed reversals deal with Flyers and Carbo wanted to wake up his team. Moreover, it remains easier to remove compared with Tomas Plekanec and Andrei Kostitsyn. Since the beginning of the season, he had his place in training, but in defeat he must make changes.

Philippe Boucher, an interesting option for CH?

I have often argued that the Canadian had to find a fourth experienced defender and I consider that Philippe Boucher could be a good option. At the moment, I have the impression that depleting Roman Hamrlik. It is demanding for him to move with Ryan O'Byrne. The injury to Mike Komisarek also complicates the situation. It is impossible to ask too Patrice Brisebois who should be the seventh defender on the team.

A fourth effective advocate and a dangerous power game are two elements essential to aspire to the Stanley Cup.
